Types of Hearing Aids

Hearing deficiency can affect a person not only physically, it also affect a person’s mental and emotional being. This makes them feel like being left behind, especially when they are the one who never let them be acquainted with the people around them.
When there is a situation that their child is going to experience problem about their hearing sense, it is important to have them checked by a specialist right away to identify how serious the condition of the child is and to be aware as well about the things that can be done to prevent losing the hearing sense completely.
Hearing aid plays an important role in aiding the hearing impaired persons, available in different classification, style, uses. Before a hearing aid is worn, there are things that should be considered to ensure the affectivity of it.
Here are some types of hearing aids available:
- Behind-the-Ear (BTE)- The main parts of the hearing aid sit behind the ear and commonly used by older people and can be used for mild to serious hearing loss.
- Open Fit- instead of molding to transfer sound into the ear this is a type of (BTE) that uses a small tube.
- In-the-Ear (ITE) – fits completely in the outer ear that have features installed, such as the ability to work with telephone amplifiers.
- In-the-Canal (ITC) – very small that made to fit inside a person’s ear canal, very small used for mild to moderate hearing loss.
- Completely-in-Canal (CIC) – fits completely in a person’s ear canal and is also virtually unseen, used for mild to moderate hearing loss.
