There are three major classifications for hearing aids. The most common and the least expensive among all hearing aids is the conventional or standard type. This conventional type has four models such as the behind the ear model which is the oldest, the in the ear model which is small just enough to fit the outer ear, the in the canal model which is designed to fit our ear’s canal and lastly the completely in canal model which is inside our ear canal and can hardly be seen from outside. The second classification would be the analog hearing aids which can be purchased with or without remote control. In this category the person wearing the hearing aid can adjust the settings depending on their needs for a certain location. The last classification would be the digital hearing aids which are considered to be the most expensive hearing aids compare to the other two. It is considered to be the most expensive since one does not need to adjust the settings manually. Digital hearing aids will adjust automatically either to lower or increase the volume depending on the situation.
