Adults also need to get the tests done when you suspect that there is a hearing problem, preventing the problem from getting worse. Online tests are available to determine the problem, but the best way to get a hearing screening done is to go to an audiologist. They have the experience and knowledge to help you figure out exactly what is causing your hearing problems.
There are times when the problem can be easily fixed but sometimes it’s permanent. Having permanent hearing loss, audiologist will be able to better help you find the right type of hearing aid so you can start hearing the sounds of life around you again.
Professionals recommend that anyone under the age of 50 has their hearing tested at least once every 10 years, over the age of 50 it is at least once every three years. This will help you when a problem is developing or if you have normal hearing. Audiometry, the basic test used for most adults considered as very simple and pain free test. A series of tones will be played through earphones and you will need to indicate to the doctor what sounds you hear and what sounds you don’t.
